Luxembourg, -
The Supervisory and Financial Information Authority (ASIF) participated in the 30th Egmont Group Plenary of Financial Intelligence Units, held in Luxembourg from 6 to 11 July 2025, marking the 30th anniversary of the Egmont Group.
Throughout the week, the ASIF delegation took part in the meetings of the Egmont Group Working Groups and in the activities of the Europe II Regional Group, contributing to discussions on key issues relating to international cooperation among Financial Intelligence Units and the fight against financial crime.
Among the main outcomes of the Plenary was the adoption by the Heads of FIUs of important resolutions concerning the operational independence and autonomy of Financial Intelligence Units, as well as new support and compliance procedures within the Egmont Group framework.
The Plenary also provided an important opportunity to strengthen international cooperation among participating FIUs, promote the exchange of experience and expertise, and discuss emerging challenges in combating money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing.
The event reaffirmed the central role of the Egmont Group as a global platform for cooperation and information exchange among Financial Intelligence Units.
ASIF expresses its appreciation to the Financial Intelligence Unit of Luxemburg for the excellent organisation of the meetings and the warm hospitality extended to all participants.
